Young people have a big role to play in preventing and countering violent extremism, they need to be empowered, included and offered alternatives to extremist content.

From 16 to 18 December, 2021, Forum MNE organized training on the topic of Youth Work in Prevention and Countering Violent Extremism, which aimed to empower youth activists, organizations of youth and youth organizations to engage in programs to prevent and counter violent extremism (P / CVE).
During the training, the participants were introduced to the basic concepts and definitions in the field of prevention and countering violent extremism, the importance of media literacy, and had the opportunity to discuss the vulnerability and resilience of their local communities to violent extremism and the actions and programs to be implemented, when it comes to young people.
The activity is a part of the regional project ” Communities First: Creation of a civil society hub to prevent and counter violent extremism – From Prevention to Reintegration”, implemented by the Forum MNE in partnership with the Center for Legal Civic Initiatives (Albania), the organization Hope and Children’s Homes (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Partners of Kosovo – Center for Conflict Management (Kosovo), Center for Common Ground (Northern Macedonia) and the Cultural Center DamaD (Serbia), with financial support from the European Union and the Ministry of Public Administration of Montenegro.
