Promote tolerance in words and deeds

15.11.2019.

Sweet Pazar Sofra and releasing of balloons with messages of friendship and tolerance marked the International Tolerance Day in Novi Pazar. The event is part of a visit and regional meetings of a consortium of civil society organizations from the Western Balkans region organized by the DamaD Cultural Center.

The gathered youth stated that that the only thing we should not tolerate is violence.
The event was also an opportunity to promote regional project “Communities First: Creation of civil society hub to address violent extremism—from prevention to reintegration” implemented by Center for Legal Civic Initiatives (Albania), Hope and Homes for Children (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Partners Kosova – Center for Conflict Management (Kosovo), Forum MNE (Montenegro), Center for Common Ground (North Macedonia), and Cultural Center DamaD (Serbia) with financial support from the European Union and the Ministry of Public Administration Of Montenegro.
“What the civilian sector is trying to do over the next three years is to ensure that all our societies are safe, that our young people stay in their countries and feel safe. In addition to state institutions and schools, the civilian sector plays an important role when it comes to preventing violent extremism and radicalization,” stated Forum MNE Executive Director Elvira Hadžibegović Bubanja.
International Tolerance Day has been celebrated since 1996 as a day of respect and appreciation for people different from us.
